Membership

ONGIA membership is open to “sworn members of law enforcement agencies” at present. This includes but is not restricted to Police Officers, Probation Officers, Corrections Officers, Immigration Officers and Customs Officers.

The annual membership fee is $30.

Membership runs on a recurring basis, annually. Members must renew yearly and will be informed via email when memberships are soon to expire.

If you attend the annual conference in November the membership fee is included in your registration.

Our Mission

Although ONGIA’s original focus was on street gangs, the expanse of threats ONGIA now recognizes as having influence on street gangs also include other threat groups such as Terrorists, Outlaw Bikers, Extremists and Traditional organized crime groups.

The age of technology has not passed these groups and there are more and more interdependencies and sophistication among them, requiring more active interdiction from law enforcement.

For The Community

The Ontario Gang Investigators Association is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, intervention and suppression of criminal street gangs. ONGIA recognizes that societal violence perpetrated by street gangs is caused by several factors in our society. ONGIA is committed to hearing and respecting the opinions of all individuals and organizations.

The phenomenon of "street gangs" is a constantly evolving process. This page will also contain current articles of interest from a variety of open sources. In order to understand and effectively respond to this ever changing issue, we must be educated and informed.

As parents, youth, educators and law enforcement it is incumbent upon us all to work side by side to deal with this issue.
